- (2) M6 x 75mm Stud
- (1) K & N Air Filter
Installation:
- 1. Some carburetors use a stud to hold the stock air filter on and some use bolts. If your carburetor uses studs then you will need to remove them.
2. If you are going to run the stock breather tube from the air filter to the front of the valve cover then you will need to install the supplied 90 degree hose barb in the bottom air cleaner plate. If you are going to eliminate the front breather tube then you need to install the supplied plug into the bottom air cleaner plate. LC Engineering recommends installing a breather filter onto the front of the valve cover if you are going to eliminate the breather tube.
3. LC Engineering supplies M5 bolts and M6 bolts. Determine what size threads are in your carburetor and use to proper size allen bolts and lock washers to install the bottom air cleaner plate to the carburetor. In very dusty areas LC Engineering recommends using a small amount of grease between carburetor and air cleaner bottom plate.
4. Install supplied studs into bottom plate. The shorter threaded section of the stud goes into the bottom plate. The longer threaded portion of the stud goes through the top plate. Use a thread locker such as Loctite on the studs where they go into the bottom plate. The studs do not need to be very tight, just a “snug” fit with Loctite will hold them in place.
5. Install new K & N air filter.
6. Install air cleaner top. Use supplied nylon washer, steel washer and nylock nut to fasten air cleaner assembly together. a.Put nylon washer between air cleaner top and steel washer to protect it from damage.
7. Regularly service K & N filter following K & N instructions.
